Rwanda has been a notable producer of coffee since 1930, when the government mandated coffee production, especially in rural communities.  The country is the ninth largest exporter of Arabica beans, which are marked with noticeable acidity, body, and character. This country boasts 500,000 small coffee farmers with less than 1 hectare each!
